This statement covers amihc.co.uk, including the free tools published here. We want everyone to be able to use this site, and we treat accessibility as part of building well rather than an afterthought. Last updated 25th July 2026.
What we build for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. In practice, this site is built with:
- Semantic HTML with a logical heading structure and landmark regions on every page
- Text contrast that meets AA thresholds, checked and corrected during development
- Keyboard operability, with visible focus styles on interactive elements
- Descriptive alternative text on informative images
- Layouts that reflow at mobile sizes and respect browser zoom to 200%
- No time limits, no autoplaying media, no flashing content
How we test
Pages are tested with automated tooling (Lighthouse accessibility audits) alongside manual keyboard and mobile checks. At the last review, our main pages scored between 93 and 100 on Lighthouse's accessibility audit, and the issues found (contrast on buttons and captions, a missing main landmark) were fixed. Automated testing only catches a subset of barriers, so we treat these scores as a floor rather than proof.
Known limitations
We are honest about where we are. This website has not yet had a formal third-party WCAG 2.2 audit. The interactive tools present data-dense tables and charts which we are working to make fully screen-reader friendly; the underlying figures are always available as text in the tables. If you find a barrier we have missed, we genuinely want to know.
Our tools and your data
The free tools run entirely in your browser with no sign-in, which also means they carry no session timeouts or authentication barriers. Printable outputs are provided for anyone who prefers paper.
